Step inside the forge and build your own fully functional knife from raw steel to final polish in this immersive two-day, 14-hour workshop with Forged in Fire Champion Gabe Mabry. You'll walk away with both a hand-crafted blade — and the skills to keep going.
🔥 What You’ll Do
- Forge a full-tang blade from high-carbon steel
- Heat-treat it for long-lasting edge retention
- Grind bevels and shape the profile
- Fit and finish your own handle scales
- Hone your knife to a shaving-sharp edge
- Leave with a custom knife built by you — fully hardened, assembled, and ready to use

This was my first time making a knife. Gabe was absolutely amazing in making sure he went over all the steps and taught me how to do it right. He was patient, understanding and most of all fun to be around. He would allow you to do as little or as much as you wanted during the process. The class is like having your friend teaching you something he loves to do. Though it's a two day class, it never felt long. He also made lunch for us both days and it was really good. This knife will be an heirloom to my kids. Recommend this class for anyone interested in knife making!
Gabe is a great teacher. He takes all the time needed and then some to be sure you get the training needed. I have never worked on a forge or with some of the other tools he trained me on. He goes into great detail to help you understand how the different metals and methods work and react.
